Hi, folks...

I know I haven't posted anything the last few days, but I got a little cold and was in bed most of the time.

I've run across a wonderful web site about cars constructions: the "Valica SCR GT". It contains a huge selection of information about construction. On the downside, it haven't been updated frequently.

As I told you before I'm redrawing the blueprints once more, and it's extremely time-consuming.

Hi, folks...

Today I have some sad news. I've been redrawing that blueprint I found quite nicely. And when it was almost done, I compared the side view with a picture where the Countach is exactly at the same position...

And the blueprint was wrong. At least concerning the height and some positions.

So, let's back to the drawing. Or should I say "re-redrawing"?

Sorry folks,

No new development today. My wife got a new kitten last Tuesday and we already have 2 cats. So, as you might have guessed, the older cats didn't enjoy the newcomer.

Then I had to build a new door for our house to separate the cats from the kitten for a while until they get along with each other.

I keep you informed about new developments as soon as I have some.

Hi, folks...

Not much to report today, but some progress in my drawings.

I took that blueprint and opened it on Corel Draw to redraw as a vector drawing. As soon as I finish it I'll post it here, so you guys can see what I have done.

As I mentioned before, I told about 3D drawings. I know that everything starts with the bluprints, right? And I need a very good set of them. I'll need feedback on how close are my blueprints to the real thing, because I can only compare them with the pictures I find on the Internet.

Hi, folks.

I didn't search much today. But as I said before, thanks to the "Onno van Braam" site I've found some blueprints, but today I followed the link overthere and found more blueprints (some of them even more detailed). I've found those blueprints at the Hobby Scale Models On Line Shop. The blueprints are of small 1:18 models.

I've taken those blueprints I told you about and started some 3D drawings about how my Countach is suposed to look like and that will take some time.

I prefer to draw it on 3D, so I can see, almost as real as possible, how it will look and try a lot of color schemes before starting doing some real work.

I'll keep you informed about the progress on my drawings too.

Hi, folks.

Another long day of searching... but gratefully it was fruitfull. Thanks to the Onno van Braam | Evolution web site I found a small Countach blueprint. It's not much, and it's very poorly scanned but it's a blueprint none the less.

Oh! I forgot to mention earlier but I DO have a Countach, a yellow small 1:18 model that I bought some years ago, just to compare sizes when I build the real thing. But I haven't even started it yet.

As I told you before, I'm between jobs... and if you know of anyone in need of a good System Analyst, please do forward my email to them. Who knows, huh?

Well, another day, another post.

I found a nice site called Automotive Forums, where I found a forum dedicated exclusively to the Countach. This site is quite huge and there are a lot of people there that, I believe, could and would help me in my little quest.

It has been very difficult to me to find blueprints and more technical information about the LP 500 S that I want to build. But I'll succeed.

Well, what can I say on my first blog? And with such daring purpose?

So, first things first. I live in Brazil, and I simply LOVE the way a Countach looks.

If you don't know what a Countach is, check out at Lambo Cars. They are an amazing site about all Lamborghinis out there.

The real thing is a way out of my possessions at the present moment. Even an used one (it's a little joke, they don't make the Countach anymore, so there are only used ones :-). These are about $60,000 and living in Brazil it's almost impossible (even if I had the money, the freight cost would make it impossible).

I like the Countach. I can't afford it. So, let's build it.

I heard about people that buy kits for the Countach and they (say) look like the real thing. But I also heard that this is not true, always something is a little bit different and a simple guy can tell the difference.

What I want is to build the most precise replica of a Lamborghini Countach humanly possible. And it's where I'll need help.

First I'm not a mechanical engineer so, I'll need help with the structural calculation for the body.

I don't have enough pictures of the Countach I want to build...

Ops! I didn't mention witch one I'm building. My bad. It's the amazing Countach LP500S.

I'm going to need a LOT of pictures of this amazing car, but I'll also need (and if someone help me with this I'd be very thankful) schematics for the car, dimensions and other stuffs.

I'll need help with the structural calculation, as I said before, with the chassis, so the chassis would resist in the real world. After all I don't want to build this replica just for show. I intend to make this replica my everyday car. Who else could say that they go to work on a Countach build from scratch?
